The ‘S’ in ‘S’ Factor

I was fighting Ric for the remote to catch the latest half hour episode of the ‘S’ factor. He was arguing quite feebly that a bunch of grown men chasing a ball can be more entertaining than the ‘Brains or Beauty’ debate by the leggy models and wannabes of Singapore’s very own ‘S’ factor. There may be divided opinions on this show in the media and in blogs, but for its sheer entertainment value of digging at the pretty girls who honestly dont have it all, I still must this show rocks.

Applaud S Factor for the honesty of the girls who can barely speak proper English, or string logic into their sentences.  They who conceal their inadequacies with skimpy clothes, catty remarks and layers of mascara. It is fun to watch but disturbing to witness the double edge sword that is feminism. On one hand women can bare their assets and cash them in for fame, cash and air time, a far cry from what women can do just 2 generations ago. On the other hand it reinforces the stereotype that pretty woman aint smart (and they dont bother hiding it).
