decisions decisions
It is almost vulgar how ill we are in dealing with decisions, many life bending ones that not just heralds but determines our paths however long the life expectancy curve persists.
There are the fundamental riddles like money, career, love, relationship related decisions we have to make early in life.
In the playground, we choose friends, or allow ourselves to be chosen. In love, we may fall heads over heels without understanding the ramifications of easy virtues linked to the blind folly-in-love syndrome. That may quickly determine how we will live our lives, as Britney Spears inspired real people without the money or the antipole Jane (Austen) who mostly wax lyrical about love, the fictitious characters like Mr. Darcy and Mr. Knightly, bigger and truer than most walking down the aisle with stamps over eyes predicament.
Money. People who has it says it’s secondary. Those without can only pine like Matsukaze. Who wouldn’t want to shop without a second glance to the price tag?
Recent wealth led inspirational writers/speakers like Kiyosaki to pen more millions with his Rich Dad Poor Dad series. It appears that not accepting wealth is becoming synonymous to the secular equivalence to a non-enlightened mind. Your anestors may be oppressed by the caste/class system, pre-women liberation movement, apartheid, political/ruling systems or even wars. But you, the liberated, the capitalist dweller should no longer be shackled by the oppressed poverty stricken mind set. You have to think rich to be rich. Wow. How?
First of all, buy the book. At the end of every chapter you will learn that it is a matter of mind set. Think rich and the rest will follow. Wealth management, money creation (saving, investing etc) and a rich-addict friend told me to mix around only with people with similar aspirations. You usually mix with people of the same income bracket and socio/economical background, which actually does merge with the riddle on relationship. As the chinese saying goes 近朱者赤近墨者黑, your friends’ virtues or vices will eventually rub off on you.
So i will imagine this will present a moral dilemna. Will you now classify your friends into usefulness in your pursue of world domination? Will the gypsy blood in you be tainted forever by Louis Vuittons and Hermes, and be eventually silenced into the mont blanc pen in pocket, LV cuff links, Raoul made to measure shirts ensemble? And what will the average Joe, with average intellect do to have the eclair on the top of the five tiered pastry dish during Tiffin in Raffles Hotel? To drive a sports car into the condo in sixth avenue and buy wine not by the price tag but by the year of harvest.
It is hardly surprising anymore the way the world is turning today, to the sound of the cash register.
