long hair, short hair

For the longest time i dig long hair, curls or no curls. Straight like the elf princess Liv Tyler in the Lord of the Ring. Ethereal, with a halo effect. Beauty. Or curls like those babes on sticks in lingeries carrying lollipops and wearing big fairy wings strutting down Victoria Secrets cat walk show that always airs and reruns on TV. I salivate.

Museum ala Crochet blooms

i love creating, work with my hands, make something new, watch creations take shape and esp if it hinges on frivolity. love flowers, those psychedelic colours blooming, adding shades, hues, smiles to faces and spaces. no surprise then when i decide that i should crochet some flowers.

Butterfly or me

in the course of my dreaming last night, i managed to will the course of my dreams. That is to say, in my snooze mode state of mind, i was able to, after encountering a certain incident in a dream, press pause, rewind and change the course of dream history at will, all in accordance [...]

if whining helps, tommy will be king (or queen)

On the thirtieth-something floor of this modern skyscrapper overlooking the SAILS and the SANDS, i was hopelessly lost and depressed. How did they manage to recruit all the backstabbers, liars, amoral bimbos in one room?

On will writing, so that your wishes will be cast in stone…

Chanced upon this local site which would be tremendously useful for long view financial planning… leaving money and instructions behind on providing your child/ren with a good education and ensuring your spouse and family are well provided for, for a while at least while they cope with your absence, physically and financially.

El Orfanato (The Orphanage) 2007

A fine line divides the horror genre and the really freaky scary pee-in-your-pants materials. Shadows passing your window in the dead of the night, strange knockings on the door midnightly may be spooky yet nothing freaks the mind of one more than realism in the horror, the it-can-also-happen-to-you that keeps your vacant mind active way past [...]

Black Tuesday, not a day in the week would be spared…

Money that can fill vaults floors to ceilings, suddenly, irrevocably fictional, like a mirage, a windows screensaver. Gone. Poof.

decisions decisions

It is almost vulgar how ill we are in dealing with decisions, many life bending ones that not just heralds but determines our paths however long the life expectancy curve persists.
There are the fundamental riddles like money, career, love, relationship related decisions we have to make early in life.
In the playground, we choose friends, or [...]

Hail the Magical 8 ball

jogged in the rain this evening, two rounds, a rarity for me. felt that i have been spunning plates on poles for decades and now they come crashing down. i need a quick fix, a pick me up, instant intelligent answers, revealations, epiphanies, nothing short of a miracle, a 8 ball with more than 8 [...]

Singapore Biennale Central Promontory Site 3

My favourite installation art piece of this year’s biennale can be found at the free site of Central Promontory, a make shift temporary structure made up of containers standing behind One Marina Boulevard and admist construction sites, both deterrence but in this land scarce state, essential for the big scale exhibits it houses.

What welcomes you [...]
